Myra Allen is a successful and respected speech therapist who has worked with hundreds of children and adults with learning disabilities and speech/language disorders. For over thirty years, Myra has maintained a private practice in Long Island, New York. Through her practice, Island Speech and Learning Center, Myra works directly with children and adults, and serves as a consultant to teachers and special education instructors.
With her experience and expertise, Myra has been a speaker at numerous parent workshops and conferences. Her presentations have focused on the language and learning milestones in preschool children, the learning needs of children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and the connection between oral language and reading. She has also published language games and activities for preschool through junior high school students.
Myra is a New York State licensed Speech-Language Pathologist, and is certified as a Teacher of the Speech and Hearing Handicapped, and Teacher of Special Education grades K-12.
